8th Annual Trivia Bee to benefit Project
GRACE is Thursday, October 29, 2015.
Have you heard the buzzzzzzz? The Trivia Bee is
Scarborough's funniest fundraiser! And it's back!
Come one, come all!Come to Camp Ketcha on Thursday, October 29th for a light-hearted competition
that is a fun expression of our community spirit. Want to get in on the fun?
You can create a team, sponsor the event, or spend the evening enjoying the
show! Create a team of three to match wits to test your trivia knowledge, add a
fun team name and costume to complete the package. Cheer for your favorite
team, enjoy treats by SoPo Catering, groove to the swinging sounds of Scarborough's crooners, Tribute to the
Standards, and play along with the contestants.
“The Trivia Bee is one Scarborough’s hallmark events,
bringing friends from all around town together in support of Project GRACE’s
core mission of helping our neighbors,” said Executive Director Steffi Cox. “It’s
an evening of fun and goodwill, but one that is doing good work throughout the
community, too.”
This year’s Bee hopes to
raise at least $15,000 – or the equivalent of about thirty deliveries of 100
gallons of heating oil to a family struggling to make ends meet, or enough to
fund the group’s school and community nutrition projects for the current school
year.
In addition to the Trivia Championship, teams are
competing for Best Costume, Best Name and Most Enthusiastic Supporters. Again
year there is also a very special award, the “Bees-Knees Buzz Award” for the
local business that builds the greatest buzz, the biggest swarm of paper bees.
The place to "bee" on Thursday, October 29th, is at Camp Ketcha. Tickets are available soon - suggested donation is just $5 at the door. Doors open at 6:15 for games and prizes and refreshments; the trivia bee competition begins at 7:00.
